For added strength and energy to your magick, we use 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oils and all natural products for use in our Magick Bar. We do not use synthetic perfume oils, synthetic waxes or other ingredients of any kind nor do we believe in their use for magick. Essential oils are highly concentrated volatile parts of plants, trees, fruits and roots that are extracted by various methods. We take into consideration and appreciate the amount of nature that has been condensed into these tiny drops. This choice to spend the extra money for real stuff becomes clear when1 drop of pure rose essential oil is said to contain 30 roses and 1 drop of synthetic rose perfume oil is said to contain ZERO roses. Besides, what kind of magick would you be creating if it was made with fake ingredients?
Back to essential oils…They are very strong and must be diluted into a carrier oil or incorporated into a finished product such as a massage oil, soap, lotion, and aroma sprays.
Whether diluting or adding to a finished product, the essential oil content should only account for 1 to 2% of the total blend. Here is the breakdown of how we determine how much essential oil to add to 1 oz. of carrier oil or to a finished product. 1% dilution: 1 oz. = 30 ml. = 600 drops of oil. 1% of 600 drops is 6, for 1 oz. of carrier oil you add 6 drops of essential oil. 2% dilution: 1 oz. = 30 ml. = 600 drops of oil. 2% of 600 drops is 12, for 1 oz. of carrier oil add 12 drops of essential oil.
With items you create within the Magick Bar, you can choose up to 4 essential oils for a total of 2% dilution. The only item you can specifically create a recipe for drop by drop are the spell oils. Candles, salts, lotions, soaps and aroma sprays will be distributed by our Note Classification formula of 30/50/20 (30% Top Note, 50% Middle Note, 20% base note)
Essential oils that are classified as top notes normally evaporate very fast. They tend to be light, fresh and uplifting in nature and generally give the first impression of the blend and are not very long lasting. The bulk of essential oils are considered middle notes and normally give body to the blend and have a balancing effect. The smells of middle notes are not always immediately evident and may take a couple of minutes to come into their own right and are normally warm and soft fragrances. Essential oils that are classified as base notes are normally “heavy” oils with their fragrance evident, but will also slowly evolve and be present for a long time and slows down the evaporation of the other oils. These fragrances are normally intense, rich and relaxing in nature.
